eReaders & Tablets

find ereaders and tablets

eReaders have been around awhile and unless you don't get out much, you'll know all about them. The most well known devices are the Kindle from Amazon and the Nook from Barnes and Noble, however that is the tip of the ebook iceberg. There are plenty of other makes - some good, some not so good. Whatever your interest in the ereader, do not confuse it with a tablet. An ebook reader is a single-purpose devices. Yes, some offer extra features like browsing on the web but in all honesty, they are designed for the purpose of convenient reading. If you want more, then consider getting a tablet

However, if it's reading you want, and limited or zero functionality with other media applications, it makes sense to get an ereader. They are a lot cheaper than a tablet, have relatively eye-friendly screens and are specifically built for reading. Frankly, keeping your tablet exclusively for multi-media functionality and web browsing, social media etc  makes sense. Having a dedicated mobile library on a light-weight ereader is like having a standard book size, easy to handle mechanism for reading the latest novels, periodicals and newspapers from a reservoir of thousands of titles and reading media available.

The Kindle Voyage is the premium product of  the Amazon e-reader line. It is a light touchscreen model, with a fantastic clarity provided by the best contrast and resolution to date. With dedicated page-turn buttons, a flush glass front and an improved  built-in lighting, this ereader is a definite winner!
